These photos were taken during the
Kiulu 4M Challenge in 2006 (if I'm not mistaken) ... this is rafting section of the Challenge and you can only look at the photos of me (in front) and partner
JJ (now with
NSTP KL) enjoying the event.
The
Kiulu 4M Challenge consists of four traditional sports. The ‘M' in 4M stands for the four
Kadazandusun sports comprising of
managkus (running 6 km),
mamangkar (bamboo rafting for 5 km),
manampatau (swimming with bamboo for 1.3 k
m) and
mamarampanau (walking with bamboo stilts for 0.2 km). (these distances are for the Open category).
All four are indigenous, adventurous and thrilling events that will test your physical and mental skills.
But, we competed in the media section and the running section for us involved only 200m while the rest are the same (
bleh tahan juga lah kan).
Now, I am waiting for the
Kiulu 4m Challenge 2008, to take place at SK
Malangang,
Kiulu on Dec 7.
p/s: In 2006, I can't remember our team's final position but still we won cash prizes. in 2007, comprising the same line-up we finished fourth...for media section
lah...
